  • “Images uploaded via the WordPress Media uploader will open in a window if clicked.”

    1) Does this mean the (default) multi-file uploader and/or the browser uploader?

    2) My cPanel setting disallows opening images in new windows, so I’m not able to test (but it is probably a moot point given my settings).

    “The image will not be protected, so be sure to indicate that there should be no action if the image is clicked at the time you upload the image.”

    3) So far, I’ve not seen how to indicate this.

  • I don’t use these features much on my sites, so I am not a real expert. I used to upload all the images to an images directory and then type in the img tags, so I never use the image upload features of WordPress. Now I am using image hosting sites for my new pictures, so the issue doesn’t come up with me.

    I think if you edit a post you can click on the image and it lets you click an edit function where all of this stuff can be found. There should be a selection that allows you to open a window in a new window. It also has information about the link associated with the image. This should all be covered in the WordPress documentation, and should be pretty clear once you get to the image edit function.

    For plugins like galleries and sliders, all bets are off and it is up to the plugin author to set up the image.
