The program works fine. I added a download and put the shortcode in a new post. I tested it and got an email with thelink. Great. When i go to the media library in the back-end of the website i can see the downloads i added. When i hover on a pdf i added and click on view, i get a 500 error. Also the thumbnail of the pdf is not visible. Other pdf’s that are available without using the ‘Download after email’ program do show a thumnail of the pdf.
Is there a way to makethis more friendly, like to show a message that explains that documents that have been uploaded through the ‘Download after email’ plugin cannot be viewed instead of throwing a 500 error? Als showing the thumbnail regardless would be nice.
    Thanks for the plugin.
    Ed

    Hi Ed,

Glad to hear you like our plugin, thanks!

The download files are stored in a secure sub folder in the uploads folder. Visiting the URL to a download file in this secure folder is not allowed, which will cause a server error. This is normal (and not adjustable) and means that your download files are completely protected.

The thumbnails should display correctly, so something is wrong there. We will fix this with the next plugin update. Thank you for letting us know.

    Kind regards,

The thumbnail display issue has been resolved since the update to version 2.1.3. This applies to new download files. The display of thumbnails of old download files can be solved by moving these images to the dae-uploads folder or re-uploading them in the media library. If there are still problems, feel free to open a new ticket.

    Kind regards,
    Team Download After Email
