    Hi all,
I spent a lot of time chasing a mystery. I have dg 4.3.1 installed (I always update as soon as I can) and wanted to put a gallery on the front page (inside a magee shortcode). Nothing showed up, no trace that I found. I tried it on the same page outside that “ms” resulting in no change. In the forum I read to uninstall dg and reinstall it, and magically the dg shortcode worked, outside and inside the other shortcode. And yes, the other shortcode is still working…
What is the issue and how to avoid it? I am afraid that randomly I will run into the same situation and my client/s will complain…
I am very grateful for this plugin and the work you put into it.

    Hi bws999,

Unfortunately I can’t provide a definitive answer as to what went wrong. The best guess I can give is something got cached and the uninstall/reinstall purged the cache that had the wrong content.

If it stops working again, it would be interesting to know whether the DG shortcode is completely missing in what’s being shown or or if it is just not matching any documents (which would result in an empty space where the gallery should be. If it’s the latter, there would be an HTML comment when you viewed the source code.

But, saying all of that, there’s nothing I can think of to determine what’s happening until it happens again. Not the most helpful answer, I know :/

I solved it my PHP version was outdated.

I selected Options and clicked Test Server Compatibility and my PHP Version Support was under the requirement so I updated in the cPanel of my web hosting site.
