Document / Download Plugin?

I was wondering does anyone know of a plugin availiable that would give a download area?

I currently use e107 as a CMS for my company intranet, this works well but I was looking to potentially move to WordPress instead.

Only problem is that one of the most heavily used areas is the downloads area which is built into e107. We use this as a document store for things like company polices, training material etc. This is searchable and you can put in descriptions of the documents.

If there was a plugin like this availiable then I’d seriously consider moving to WordPress… if this doesn’t already exist I think someone should write it! I would if I could…
