This plugin is great and provides a superb functionality to buddypress, thank you!

May I clarify, is it possible to download documents created with the plugin?

I can read, edit, save but there is no download functionality. Unless of there is something I am missing?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi, sorry, we haven’t built in any download functionality. I’m not sure what download format would be useful, truthfully. If you have an opinion, please let us know, though I can’t promise we’ll build this capability into the plugin.

Like: PDF + a ZIP of associated files? A Word doc + a ZIP of associated files? Just the doc content (the users can grab the attachments separately)?

The issue I foresee is that converting content to a PDF or a Word doc generally requires setting up paid-for conversion software on your server, and that would put it beyond the technical reach of most users.

    Thanks!

    Hi David,

Thank you for your reply, this is much appreciated as I wasn’t aware conversion to word is a paid third party service.

I was mainly thinking of being able to download the doc content, not the comments necessarily, as a Word document.

Such feature would be massively helpful for users who want to use their work on buddyPress Docs as a basis for a future project for example that is easy to share as an attached word doc on an email.

Would open source solutions be more difficult to implement or less robust than commercial conversion software?

In any case, thank you for this plugin as it is already greatly helpful as it is! ??
