.doc and .pdf file links

  • Is it possible to post and link the post to a doc or pdf file either uploaded in the upload section or stored somewhere else on the server. Thanks

    I would think that you could do this with no problem though….

    Do you mean to make a link from inside a post to a .doc or .pdf file or the post should be such a file?

    The intention is that someone posts on a subject (a paragraph or so) and then provides further info by way of a larger pdf or word file which people can refer to. Thanks

    Does anyone know how to do this? I thought it was a matter of uploading a file and linking to it, but it doesn’t seem to work

    You have to tell WordPress that you want to allow files with the *.doc and *.pdf extensions in Options (Miscellaneous). It doesn’t default to accepting these types of files straight out of the box.

    I have mine set to accept:

    jpg gif png pdf doc zip mp3 mpe wmv mov wma qt html css htm txt wpd

    When you say “set” exactly how do you set it?
