    Hello,

A couple of days ago, I submitted a request for support. I have yet to receive a response.

Looking through the support submissions, it looks like you pick and choose which ones to respond to and that it takes quite a bit of time to respond, if you do happen to respond, that is.

Given that your plugin can have severe consequences if there is an issue with the user or your plugin, do you think this is the best support policy? If you’re not going to provide support, it might not be a bad idea to just close up shop and go home.

If you don’t want to or don’t like to provide support, why did you bother creating a plugin and make it freely available? It really doesn’t make sense.

    Have a good day.

    Regards

    Hi @nevrsmer,

I’m sorry that I haven’t responded to your request yet. I don’t try to pick and choose which ones; I just respond to threads when I have time.

Keep in mind that this is a free plugin and the support is provided freely. I also study and work, and so I can’t devote 100% of my time to this forum.

If there are consequences with this plugin, they likely result from a user adding a snippet with buggy code. There’s not a lot I can do about this, besides direct users to the pinned thread and FAQ topics that explain how to use the safe mode feature to resolve such issues.

If you’re not happy with the level of free support provided for this free plugin, then I’m not sure what to tell you.

Also, after having a look at the thread you mention, while I am happy to respond to your question, it’s worth noting that it’s out of scope for this plugin. I don’t have anything to do with WooCommerce, and so I’m probably not the best person you could ask about this.

This forum is primarily intended for asking for support using the Code Snippets plugin itself, not other third-party plugins or customisation requests. And like I said, I’m happy to respond to such threads, but I will not value them on the same level as on-topic requests.

    Hello,

I had no idea that checking email once every other day and responding to a question every other day would consume 100% percent of your time. If that’s the case, you might want to reconsider offering a free plugin if checking email one every two days is too much for you, which is vital given the impact your plugin can have on a site’s functionality. It’s far different than offering a plugin that can have an adverse affect on a site – such as a lazy load plugin that disrupts how a gallery is resolved but the site remains up, running, and 100% functional on the font and backend – whereas your plugin can render a site completely inoperable.

My question really didn’t have to do with Woocomerce directly had you read my message. It had to do with determining if your plugin had the functionality of implementing code that would allow me to select which pages Woocomerce’s code would appear on.

As such, my question was not concerned with third-party plugins, but with the functionality of your and if it was a plugin that would allow me to insert code – whether it had an impact on Woocommerce or on any other plugin or WP functionality.

Given your lack of support and snippy, flippant attitude, it’s clear your plugin and support are far from what I am looking for. Thought it’s free, you still have an obligation to provide support.

    Have a great day.

    Cheers!

Hi everyone! So I have been trying to get OUT of this thread for MONTHS now and I have subscribed and unsubscribed from it at least 10 times…. anyone have any other idea how to get out?!

    Hi @bungeshea,

Thank you very much for the effort you make to keep the plugin updated and for answering the forums.

Don’t be let down because of any freeloaders.

    Cheers,
    Gabriel

    Hi Gabriel,

By “freeloader” I assume you are referring to me. For your information, I did not download the plugin, so I am not a “freeloader”. I was verifying if the plugin was able to perform the function I needed it for, which is what Support is for, and decided to find another route given the “developer’s” lack of response and inability to answer a simple question regarding his own plugin (e.g., Will your plugin perform X function? Here’s the example code I want to insert. Can your plugin do this?). It’s a pretty straight forward question.

Where you to have a grasp of the meaning of that term “freeloader”, you would know that if something is free, there is no way anyone can be a “freeloader”.

By the way, Gabriel, have you given the developer any money? I see no way to do so. In that case, it appears you are the freeloader, that is if you downloaded and use the plugin.

    Have a great day!

Even though you say your question has nothing to do with woocommerce, it still does in the end. And since woocommerce isn’t from the same creator, i can understand why he didn’t react to the topic in the first place.

You want it to work with a third party plugin wich is not from the same creator.
You are asking if the plugin makes you able to select pages from, in your case, woocommerce to make the code run on.

Had you asked if it was possible to make plugin choose wich page(s) it runs on, it would be a different question alltogether. But then the question would rather have been, can i place a snippet in a specific page, or only run it globally, everywhere?

Anyways, @bungeshea is making this plugin for people to freely use in his own free time. He is replying to topics here in his own free time aswell. That alone should make you show some respect though.
