Do you need a rss, xml & atom feeds for all to put your URL into a reader?

Wonderful. I loaded up in my plugins activated it, now how do I use it.

Well, that’s not my site, but the plug should be functioning properly immediately after you activate it. There should be no further user intervention required.

Login, go to “Plugins”, click “Activate”, and immediately “Files such as index.xml, index.rdf, rss.xml, rss2.xml, atom.xml, *.xml are directed to the appropriate WP handler.”

I understand that part, what are the URLs to my feeds now?

I cannot even find .htaccess. where is it suppossed to be?

Oops. I know I saw it somewhere. Were is it stored? It is in dashboard files, but I cannot find it on my server.

.htacess is in the root directory of wherever you installed wordpress, or in the root directory itself. Or wherever you “put it”.

I don’t know what “dashboard files” are so I can’t answer that part of the question.

ilovetheweb, your feed URLs are what they always have been, but if a bot comes spidering your site looking for an index.xml feed, they will find the correct feed.

If it is, I am still getting the MS File download box.

It says:

Then I am being asked:

What would you like to do with this file?

Open this file from its location OR
Save this file to disk?

I fail to see how these atom and rdf URLs are useful to me.

actually .htaccess appears to be hidden. I can only access it from dashboard. It has a built in file editor
