Do you know the path to images?

I have the base directory: /var/www/html/blogs/

I have installed a new blog at https://mysite.com/blogs/news/.
I have the blog_id for /news/ which happens to be 6.

In my WPMU instance, I assumed that images would then be located here:
/var/www/html/blogs/wp-content/blogs.dir/6/files/year/month/, where year is a 4 digit value and month is a 2 digit value such as:
/var/www/html/blogs/wp-content/blogs.dir/6/files/2010/01/.

This would mean that requests to:
https://mysite.com/blogs/news/2010/01/myimage.jpg should point to that location. Or…so I thought.

What am I doing wrong?
The file does exist. I already verified this.
