A competitor of mine has a mobile-specific menu that appears exclusively on mobile devices. When accessing the website via a desktop or tablet, this menu remains invisible. The picture is this: https://ibb.co/JKw2wW7

My competitor website is this: https://goldrateinqatar.com/

Is there any way that this menu automatically generated ?

  • This is not a “menu” in the traditional sense. The site’s (navigational) menu is the “hamburger” icon you see at the topmost-right of the screen (on mobile), and this is a basic feature of every responsive website, and ALL the default themes have this.

But your screenshot refers to something else entirely.

What you’re referring to is just a piece of content — a table in this case, but it can be anything: a paragraph of text, an image, a video, etc — that is set to be visible on mobile only, but hidden on larger screens like desktops.

This is typically not a theme feature… unless your theme comes with a page builder.

If you’re using one of the major BLOCKS plugins like Kadence Blocks, GenerateBlocks, Gutenverse, etc, these will have this feature to conditionally display any of their blocks on mobile or desktop. The site you gave actually uses the Kadence Blocks plugin for this.

Other page builder plugins like Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, etc will also have such a feature.

Finally, there are also plugins that can add this conditional display capability to ANY block. “Block Visibility” and “Conditional Blocks” are just two examples.

As of my last knowledge update in January 2023, the default WordPress theme is still Twenty Twenty-Two. The default themes in WordPress have been progressively designed to be mobile-responsive, ensuring a seamless experience across various devices, including mobile phones.

The mobile responsiveness of a theme often includes the adaptation of the menu for smaller screens. Typically, default WordPress themes feature a responsive menu that transforms into a mobile-friendly version, such as a hamburger menu, when viewed on smaller devices.

If you’re using a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-Two, you can expect it to have built-in support for mobile responsiveness, including a mobile menu. However, the specific design and features may vary between different default themes.

It’s advisable to check the official documentation or theme details for the specific version you are using to confirm the mobile menu functionality, as updates or changes to default themes can occur over time. If you’ve customized your theme or if there have been updates since my last knowledge update, consider checking the latest information from the WordPress theme repository or your theme’s official documentation.

@minvance: Perhaps if you took a look at the screenshot OP provided, you’d see this request has absolutely nothing to do with menus at all — mobile or desktop — despite OP calling it as such.

Yes, the default themes in WordPress, such as Twenty Twenty-One, do include built-in support for mobile responsiveness, and they typically come with a mobile menu. This means that the theme is designed to adapt and provide a user-friendly experience on various devices, including mobile phones and tablets In the context of responsive design, when a user visits your WordPress site on a smaller screen, the default theme will often display a mobile-friendly menu that is easier to navigate on devices with limited screen space. This menu is commonly referred to as a “hamburger menu” due to its icon resembling a hamburger Keep in mind that the specific features and appearance of the mobile menu may vary slightly depending on the default theme version, so it’s a good idea to check the theme documentation or customize the settings within the WordPress Customizer to tailor the mobile menu to your preferences.
