Do search engines need to access php files?

  • I want to create a firewall rule on Cloudflare that blocks/challenge URI path that contains .php, do you think it is ok or will it become a problem? Because I got so much bot traffic tried accessing that path.

  • They normally don’t unless you have a stand-alone file (or more) that needs to be run.

    Just be careful that you allow PHP files to be run from the wp-admin directory… blocking those would be pretty bad. ??
