Do permalinks have a custom field name?

Hi there!

I’m trying to see if I can pull the parent page permalink into a custom field? I want to be able to use the slug of the parent page in a header template.

For example, if a URL is https://mysite.com/about/me, I’d like to be able to pull “about” into a custom field that I can use around my site. In my application, I’d like to create a header template that would have a H3 tag that displays the “about” from the slug.

Is the different parts of the slug assigned a custom field or name that I can pull from the database and reference?

Any advice or insight would be appreciated.
