    Hi all,

I just wanted to add a high priority note/reminder to NOT uninstall NextGEN Gallery 2.0 if you are having problems. If you formally uninstall the plugin, it deletes all data, including your galleries.

If you are having issues with 2.0 and want to roll back to the previous version (1.9.13), here are some step by step instructions for doing so safely:

    https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/how-to-rollback-a-version/

As noted in the other sticky post at the top of this forum, if you are having major issues, we’d also love to hear about them so we can resolve them, so consider posting a new thread or looking for one on the same issue.

  • @photocrati i hope next updates will be fixed because this plugin is the best i’ve seen and i am using it all the time. Did not have any problem with updates until now.

I agree with stealthkinetics and AirFlame… not happy with 2.0 at all. rollback necessary. Changing CSS, options, etc throughout multiple client sites not an option. Did not have any problem with updates until now.

I upgraded a site and lost everything all galleries and pics, scary that this plugin wasn’t tested enough. It didn’t work with 3.5.2 and I’m sure it doesn’t work with 3.6. I’m very disappointed with this update and scared some of my clients will upgrade and they will experience what I did. I went back to the previous version and everything works.

    Hi,

I’ve tried updating to 2.0 but all my current settings that I had for my slideshow stopped working. I did a rollback and it works great. I looked to see what all my settings are and tried updating to 2.0 again and same thing, didn’t work. If you can please check out pilottv.net and you will see how I have the images coming out of a TV set. With 2.0 all the images in my library just sit as still pictures on the page.

    Thanks, Terry

@kerchingwebdesign – We have tested extensively on 3.6 and it is working well for us on our own sites. So, it’s been puzzling to see that others are not experiencing the same stability that we are. It is a top priority for us to resolve the major & critical issues where possible that everyone is experiencing.

I’m wondering if any of you wouldn’t mind temporarily deactivating all plugins (including NextGEN) and then clear your browser cache and reactivate NextGEN Gallery only. Does that help? If not, would you also mind temporarily switching to a WP Default Theme like Twenty Thirteen and see if that helps? I know this is an inconvenience, we’re very sorry. But it would help us diagnose if this error may be a plugin/theme incompatibility.

    Thanks!

We are having the array issue to. We will do a rollback to 1.9.3 and then hope for update soon…

I reloaded 2.0 and deactivated all plugins, cleared the browser cache, reset everything on the browser, went back to pilottv.net and it was just all my images sitting there in a grid. Rolled back again and it looks like I need it to.

    Thanks

Successfully did the rollback to 1.9.13, many thanks for the instructions, saved me a lot of work

    Hi,

As requested, I de-activated all plugins, cleared cache and then reactivated nextgen – still no-go. I then switched to the 2013 theme – still no-go I am afraid. Still getting the error code on the page and no gallery.

We have a number of websites with this plug-in on and this is a bit of a problem at the moment, all seem to have given up if WordPress has been updated to 3.6

@kerchingwebdesign – Do you have v2.0 active or our most recent beta? See: https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/nextgen-gallery-latest-beta/ . If you haven’t given our most recent beta a try yet, it may be worth installing to see if that helps resolve the errors you’re seeing. If you feel comfortable installing the beta, please keep us posted on whether it not it works for you.

Otherwise, we are planning on releasing our next update within the next week which should resolve several known major issues.

    Thanks!

Just installed the beta version as directed – no joy however still getting the error message – see: https://www.blackandwhitetrail.org/black-and-white-buildings/
    any suggestions?

@kerchingwebdesign – What are your permalinks set to? You might try resetting to ‘post name’ if they’re set to something else and see if that helps? We’ve seen that work for a few users.

I’m also curious to know how you updated to v2.0. Was it via FTP or through WP auto update?

    –Becky

    Hi,

    The permalinks are Postname.

The update was completed by the auto update.

Never had a problem with Nextgen Gallery before.

@kerchingwebdesign – thanks for the update. Good info to know. We have an update we’re planning on releasing within the next week that will hopefully resolve this error for you. Would you mind getting back to us after it becomes available and let us know if it resolves this issue you’re seeing?

    Thanks!

@photocrati, are the instructinons here: https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/how-to-rollback-a-version/ really correct for downgrading from 2.0.0 to 1.9.13?

There are many 2.0.0 files that will remain and clutter up the nextgen-gallery directory in the plugin directory if you go the route in the instructions.

Does thie matter to getting it running again?

Or can you suggest a cleaner approach (can I delete the entire nextgen -gallery contents and then upload or delete the folder, upload and expand via ftp)?

    Plugin Contributor photocrati

    (@photocrati)

@daveslc – yes, the instructions are accurate and are the easiest & risk free way of rolling back a version.

If you are a confident working with files via FTP, you can temporarily rename the nextgen-gallery folder under /wp-contents/plugins/… to something like _nextgen-gallery and then re-upload the old copy of nextgen-gallery from the v1.9.13 folder. Once you re-activate and confirm all is working well, you can go back and delete the renamed copy from your server. I would only recommend doing it this way if you are 100% confident working with your server files via FTP.

    Hope that helps!
