I use the free version of the plugin, so the “Respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control with Premium” option from the “Security & Consent” step of the plugin Wizard is disabled by default, but on next step the Wizard informs me that:

You have Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control enabled. This will prevent most cookies from being placed. Please run the scan with these options disabled.

    Is this OK?

    Hi @iuriem,

This notice informs you that the browser you are using to run the Cookie Scan, has an option such as “Do Not Track/Global Privacy Control” enabled. Because the Complianz Cookie Scan utilizes your browser to report detected cookies on your site, this is likely to impact the results of the scan.

We therefore recommend disabling such browser settings prior to running the Cookie Scan, as well as other extensions that could be preventing cookies from being set (such as adblockers).

Please also refer to our earlier article explaining how to get the most accurate results from the scan: https://complianz.io/cookie-scan-results/

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @jarnovos,

Thank you! So, this is a browser setting. I would recommend changing the notice from:

You have Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control enabled. This will prevent most cookies from being placed. Please run the scan with these options disabled.

    to:

Your browser have Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control setting enabled. This will prevent most cookies from being placed. Please run the scan with these browser options disabled.

    Best regards,
    Iurie

Great suggestion. I have relayed your feedback to the team, so this is now on our backlog.
