I’m sorry to hear that you have this experience and thank you for your feedback. although I see that you have not opened a support thread so we could assist you to resolve this issue.

The Smush free version plugin doesn’t optimize originally uploaded images so optimized thumbnails can be restored. Please install Regenerate Thumbnails plugin to recreate the images.

The backup and restore option, as mentioned in the plugin’s description, is indeed included only in the Pro version.

It is strange that image quality was affected. Would you please open a support thread with us so we could have a closer look at this?

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with Smush. Could you please provide some info on why you couldn’t restore? Smush does not compress originals on the free version – you can roll-back anytime. Moreover, on WordPress 5.3+ Smush will allow you to roll-back with a click of a button. And on previous versions, you can use any free tool to regenerate your thumbnails. There are absolutely no restrictions.

Hi. I have taken a look through the smush settings/options on the smush dashboard, but i cannot see any option to revert to original settings. Perhaps you can point out where to go.

OK.. ignore last comment… I will install “Regenerate Thumbnails”
