    Hi Mikel,

Thanks a lot for your screenshot of the issue. Could you clarify what you mean by “Categories do not display well”? Do you mean the additional spacing around the category with sub categories?

And you can’t view your sub categories, right? Clicking on the parent category name or arrow icon doesn’t expand the sub category tree?

    Cheers,
    Thomas

None of the main categories and subcategories are displayed!

@codeer I have archived your reply.

While I know you have the best of intentions, it’s forum policy that you not ask users for admin or server access. Users on the forums aren’t your customers, they’re your open source collaborators, and requesting that kind of access can put you and them at high risk.

If they are paying customers (such as people who bought a premium service/product from you) then by all means, direct them to your official customer support system. But in all other cases, you need to help them here on the forums.

Thankfully are other ways to get information you need:

    You get the idea.

We know volunteer support is not easy, and this guideline can feel needlessly restrictive. It’s actually there to protect you as much as end users. Should their site be hacked or have any issues after you accessed it, you could be held legally liable for damages. In addition, it’s difficult for end users to know the difference between helpful developers and people with malicious intentions. Because of that, we rely on plugin developers and long-standing volunteers (like you) to help us and uphold this particular guideline.

When you help users here and in public, you also help the next person with the same problem. They’ll be able to read the debugging and solution and educate themselves. That’s how we get the next generation of developers.

@jdembowski Got it, thank you ??

@tahamohamadi My previous comment has been deleted, so here we go again.

You said your main categories and subcategories are not displayed. As far as I can see from your screenshot they look okay.

Ideally would be a short screencast record using a free software like loom.com so I can get a better understanding of what exactly is broken, as it’s not really clear for me from the screenshot.

When viewing the HappyFiles categories sidebar in a media modal, you should be able to scroll down the category tree using your mouse when you hover of the HappyFiles categories.

When you click on a parent category, the sub categories should expand. Does this work for you?

Also which version of HappyFiles are you using? If you are not on HappyFiles 1.2, I recommend to first update to that version and see if the issue still exists.

Can you try disabling all plugins except HappyFiles and check if you still experience this issue? This way we can isolate the problem and ensure it’s not a conflict with another plugin.

    Best,
    Thomas

    Hi @tahamohamadi,

As it’s been one week without a reply, I assume everything is working as expected now. If that is not the case, please let me know by replying to this comment. I am more than happy to assist you. Also, in the meantime HappyFiles 1.3.1 has been released. Please make sure to update to this latest version. As it comes with additional bug fixes.

    All the best,
    Thomas
