I clicked update and site instantly went down (white screen of death)

I restored the wp-content -> plugins -> ultimate-member folder with a backup I had from yesterday and now my site is working again. It took me a good 2 hours of searching on the internet to figure out how to do that…

So save yourself the headache and wait until they make a good version..

  • I just installed the latest update and it didn’t break anything. Could be a plugin conflict?

Same thing here. Complete site crash. Had to restore it all over again from a backup.

Do not update to version 2.0.26. My site also went off (PHP error) and i had to restore version 2.0.25. Too many problems with this plugin after version 1.3.88. I think it is time to look for an alternative ??

Any idea where I can still download ver 2.0.25?

Updated to 2.0.26 – no problems here .. all running fine

I was able to update the plugin just fine but all files that users uploaded to their profile (images, etc) are now missing.

Same problem here – crashed the site upon update. Was able to uninstall the plugin to get site back. Where can we download previous version??

This is why I always download a UM folder before I install UM’s updates. It’s too risky at this point.

    Hi @tmarchin, @fsaad1984, @manoskav, @pinline,

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve experienced issues after the latest update.
Can you please give us more information about this issue.
What version of the Ultimate member you’ve had installed prior to the latest update?
What PHP version you have on your server?
Have you noticed any errors on the page or in the developers console of your browser?

Can you please check the error.log file of your server and let us know if you have errors there. The error.log file can be usually found on the control panel of your hosting provider.

    Let us know.
    Thanks.

My user tags are now not working in Edit Profile. Not sure if this was due to any updates.

Most plugins are $30 – $50. This is a $200/PER YEAR plugin. I’ve had more issues with this plugin than any other, whether it’s affecting site speed/performance or basic functionality. Either hire better programmers or drop the price of this plugin. Seriously thinking about going with Ultimate Membership Pro (only $40) if it’s less of a headache. Unfortunate, because when or if UM is working properly, it’s a great plugin. I think UM is too ambitious sometimes, wanting to pump out new features instead of making sure that the existing ones just WORK smoothly.

Same issue here, white screen of death after update. I have php version 5.4. The error.log file has:

mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /var/www/vhosts/lagomar.com/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/ultimate-member/includes/core/class-files.php on line 103

For now, I have reverted to version 2.0.25 and it is working again.

    Hi @tmarchini, @zo1234, @fsaad1984, @pinline and @shewter,

We’ve released 2.0.27 hotfix update, please update via the WordPress plugin update or upload these files via FTP to your server site root/wp-content/plugins/ultimatemember folder.

    Regards.

That seems to have worked for me – thanks!

Is there a hotfix for User Tags not showing up under Edit Profile

I checked and error logging hadn’t been running on my server.
    PHP Version: 5.4
I restored the ultimate member folder from my backups to 2.0.25 to get the site back up.
I updated to 2.0.27 and it worked. Thanks for getting the hotfix out so fast.
However, now my member directory takes a full 8 to 15 seconds to load, even if I bump it all the way down to 6 members per page!
