I use “Do not automatically append the slug” option checked, so I don’t get parent page slug prepended to new page urls. Everything worked fine until I upgraded to WordPress 5.6.

Since then I always get the parent page slug prepended. I just updated the plugin to the latest version too but that does not seem to solved the problem.

    Great plugin by the way!

    Thanks!

    Hi @martincpt,

“Do not automatically append the slug” option works in a bit different way. If no %postname% tag is present and this option disabled, Permalink Manager will automatically add the page/post slug to the end of permalink. If the post type (like pages) is hierarchical, the slug of actual page will be prepended with the ancestors’ slugs.

If you would like to remove the parents/ancestors’ slugs from the default page permalinks, please replace %postname% tag with %postname_flat%.

    Best regards,
    Maciej

Thanks for the fast reply @mbis!

I’ve just tried your suggestion it worked immediately.

I used to have ‘%pagename%’ set there which worked fine until recent wordpress updates.

I’ve changed it to ‘%postname_flat%’ and I can confirm it’s working again.

    Thanks for help!
