Do large number of redirects slow load times?

    If I were to add a large number of redirects using Yoast would the server get bogged down? Let’s say for the following cases: 200, 2000 and 20000.

    As in 200 (or 20,000) page URLS are now moved and need redirecting using the Yoast tools.

    In each of those scenarios would the server be bogged down simply by iterating through the list? At point would there be a slow down?
