• hi there. i made and uploaded a wordpress site for a client 2 years ago. this client has a hosting package & as this hosting package allows for more than 1 website the client has agreed to host another clients site. the problem i have is that I don’t know how to link the domain name for the 2nd clients site to the hosting package of the 1st client without messing up. & do I need to upload wordpress a second time & to a different location in the hosting package to accomodate the new website? guidance would be much appreciated as I have not done web work for awhile now.

have you contacted the hosting provider?

As far as linking another domain to the hosting account of your client I think you will need the help of the hosting provider as Tara mentions. My understanding is that you have WordPress installed on the server of the client and the clients site is running off that. If what you are doing is creating a whole new site but running it off the same server you will need a sub folder in which to put a fresh copy of WordPress for the other site you want to host in the same place. The domain mapping is another thing that I am not experienced with.

(the only way to use one install of WordPress for multiple sites is to get into multi site installs but I don’t think that is what you want for this particular case.)
