Do I need to remove Smush it?

    I am interested in optimizing my images. Speed test suggests progressive for a few images. I am currently using Smush It but don’t see a way to check settings, etc. so it doesn’t appear to be optimizing a few images as well as it could. Will I need to deactivate Smush It or remove it before installing EWWW Image Optimizer?

    Yes, you will want to deactivate smush.it, otherwise smush.it will be slowing things down, and double-optimizing everything.
