Hi, im overhauling my site’s SEO (www.handmadecrafthouse.co.uk) and I’m uploading some new products that will be selling shortly.

I’d like to know if I *need* to enter anything in the Focus Keyphrase area? Will the page/product still rank and be found by google perfectly fine if I don’t fill that bit in? Is that bit only to give me an idea of what would rank and how well it would do so?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

    Tim

  • You don’t need to focus keyword too much in Yoast. Make everything is natural and Google will appriciate your website.

See my website: https://blog.vu-review.com I don’t focus on keyword, every article is very natural

@timothyp You don’t need to enter a focus keyphrase for your page/post/product. However, entering a focus keyphrase allows the SEO analysis features of Yoast to help optimize the content for the keyphrase you choose, which can help the page be found easier in a search.

We also have a guide on choosing a focus keyword for your page/post at the following link: https://yoast.com/focus-keyword/
