Do I need to install bps again for a new wp site in /folder

    BPS needs to be installed on each WordPress website to protect each site. If the other site is not a WordPress site then post the type of site that it is (HTML, PHP).

    I installed bps on the abc.com/def

    In the security modes section that has Auto magic buttons it says:

    Do Not Use These AutoMagic Buttons
    For Multisite subdirectory Websites Only

    Do Not Use These AutoMagic Buttons
    For Multisite subdomain Websites Only

    What does this mean?

    BPS checks your site type and displays AutoMagic buttons for standard/single WordPress installations/site types and AutoMagic buttons for Network/Multisite WordPress installations/site types.

    If your WordPress installation/site type is standard/single then you would only use the standard/single AutoMagic buttons for your website.
    Use These AutoMagic Buttons For Your Website
    For Standard WP Installations

    If your WordPress installation/site type is Network/Multisite then you would see different messages displayed. ie use these AutoMagic buttons.
