Do I need to connect to wordpress.com for comments to work?

    Hi there! Yes, you’ll need to connect Jetpack to WordPress.com to use some its features, including comments. If you have further trouble, could you provide me with the URL of your site? Then I’d be happy to take a look!

    For some reason I can’t see get the default WordPress comments to work with the template but hopefully the Jetpack comments will work.

    I’ll let you know if I have any further issues.

    Thanks for the update – if the default comments are not working, then I suspect there might be another issue at play. If you’re the author of the theme, I’d recommend reading over the comment_form() documentation here:
