    Hi there,

Just seen a pop up regarding this plugin today and wondering if I actually need it. I haven’t launched my site yet but through various test orders etc all of my emails appear to send fine.

I went through the wizard and stopped when it told me gmail doesn’t like too many emails to be sent (or something to that affect) and I am wondering do I even need to bother with this?

Any insight or help would be great.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @mmk175,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The purpose of WP Mail SMTP is to help improve email delivery from your website by ensuring your email lands in inboxes instead of spam folders or being rejected by the server.

It does this by connecting to SMTP mailers (such as SendLayer, Brevo, Google, and Outlook/Office365) which send authenticated emails from reputable servers.

In simple terms, it is similar to logging in to your email account and sending an email. In this way, you will have a much better chance of delivering your emails to the recipients without the email getting flagged as spam.

If the emails from your site are being delivered consistently, then there might not be a need for WP Mail SMTP. However, if you face any challenges with email inconsistency from your site, then WP Mail SMTP will be very helpful to you.

I hope this helps with clarification. Thanks ??

    Hi @nasanansi

I appreciate you getting back to me so soon and understand what you are saying. When I saw the message pop up tell me to download I thought it was a do or die situation.

I think I will wait to go live before I add anything else to the site.

    Kind Regards
