Nope, but it also won’t conflict if you have it.

Thank you, I will try out the Zero Spam API License for a month to see if it really stop spam registration.

Sounds good and let us know if you run into any problems, need additional 3rd-party plugin integrations, or get any spam submissions.

Well Ben @bmarshall511 I am experiencing a lot of spam registrations lately (since I installed Buddyx theme) and nothing is able to stop it. Any suggestions before I am gonna activate the license?

    Thanks!

Well, hopefully, Zero Spam will be the solution. Once activated, you can quickly configure using the recommended settings by clicking the ‘Override & Update Settings’ button on the settings screen. From there, enter your Zero Spam license key, save and you should be set.

If you still get registration spam, let us know and we’ll dig into your specific use case and attempt to help you stop it for good.

Wow, I activated the plugin and I get “Your IP address has been blocked due to detected spam/malicious activity.”

Hi @bmarshall511, I just launched my site and promoted on social media and I get complaints from people with the same error caused by your plugin. One wrote: “My ip address is blocked on your website? I’m not spammy or malicious…what gives?”

Due to the bad start I get a bad impression and unfortunately I decide not to go along with your plugin.

@marbs Keep in mind, Zero Spam doesn’t block users by itself. If you or other legitimate users are getting blocked, it’s because your IPs have been reported to one or more of the 3rd-party blacklists like Stop Forum Spam, Project Honeypot, or the Zero Spam service.

You can update the settings to not be as strict or turn off the 3rd-party API checks to help prevent this. But, in the end, you should contact the 3rd-party API that’s reporting your IP and see what you can do.

Hi @bmarshall511 Where can I update the settings to be less strict? I am running into this issue too although I’ve only had 2 users reach out.

@bmarshall511 thanks I will look into it.

@kianaw On the admin settings page (Admin > Settings > Zero Spam). If you enable logging, you can view the log and get details of why a user was blocked.
