Do I delete plugin after failed upgrade?

  • Ok, here is my issue. Any suggestion/feedback would be welcome:

    1) Had a wordpress 2.0 blog with the WP-Email (’email this to friend’) plugin.
    2) Blog had to be hacked before I finally upgraded to WordPress 2.5.1.
    3) After upgrade, the ’email to friend’ function disappeared from posts.
    4) I used the automatic upgrade feature to WP-Email220 (available on the Plugin Management page).
    5) After the automatic upgrade, the Plug-in disappeared altogether from wordpress management.

    It feels like I should just delete WP-email from the remote server and re-install the plugin. Is this the correct course of action?
