Do excerpts include images?

    The site above as was posted today seems to have a set sized image for each item that has been posted which related to that item. I would like to implement a similar effect.

    What I want is for say the latest post to have a very short excerpt within a box, similr to having an about in the sidebar except it will have latest entry. So if I was to place an image in the post within the excerpt:

    1) would it display within the box
    2) would it include the image

    Thanks in advance – I may need to illustrate what it is I’m trying to do:)

  • HTML tags placed in the excerpt field of a post will not be filtered by WordPress when using the_excerpt() tag, so yes, your image would be displayed. I’m not sure what you mean by “box”, but it should perform as you intend it to.
