    Hello!

Ok, I got a free wordpress site off wordpress.com, and then got a domain name and changed my DNS nameservers with my service provider to wordpress, now I have downloaded wordpress, and installed it.

I have installed wordpress on my testdomain site, but I can not see the installed version on my wordpress.com free blogsite.

Do I need to change my nameservers back to my service providers one?

Also if I change the nameserver back to my service providers one – do I need to export contents of my wordpress.com blog to my “new blog”

    Very confused!

Hope this makes sense, I am not up on all the techie talk and not sure if what I have written makes sense!

  • this is how it works..

1.If you want your domain name to point to a blog at wordpress.com you use their name servers.

    2. If you want a blog that you have installed at yourdomain.com to be displayed, then you point your name servers to where your domain is hosted.

Also if I change the nameserver back to my service providers one – do I need to export contents of my wordpress.com blog to my “new blog”

    Yes.
