It’s like preparing and pre-solveing DNS record before user actually access to that site.
For example , https://my-website.com has a link to https://your-website.com, so I can put “your-website.com” into DNS prefetch, so when people access https://my-website.com , it’s already solved DNS record to “your-website.com” to save DNS resolving time when it access to “your-website.com”

so if my domain was https://www.example.com
should i put “example.com” in the dns prefetch? or is should i add both https://www.example.com and example.com? @qtwrk
