I am trying to set add The Events Calendar to a site that I just took over. I came across this article: https://www.elegantthemes.com/blog/resources/the-events-calendar-a-detailed-overview-of-the-free-version

When I click on Event > Add New, I don’t get an option to use the Divi Builder. What I’m after is to for the calendar to appear to be embedded on a page. I notice that the Divi version is 2.5.5 and that 4.3.2 is available. That translates to ‘ancient’ to me. I’m not very familiar with Divi, but 1) I’m guessing this could be part of my problem and 2) I should update the version. I’m a little nervous about it, but do know that I should do a backup before doing so.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @cheryls ,
    Thanks for reaching out,

The straight answer is yes, you should try to keep all your plugins up to date to avoid incompatibility issues.
Please remember backing your site up before any update!
Please note that you will not be able to create events with Divi the same way yo create pages.
TEC will allow you to display a main calendar page (/events by default). But you can try using different templates for the calendar to make it match your site’s style.
If you go to Events->Settings->Display you can change the Stylesheet and the Template for your events.

Let me know if it helps
    Best
    Santiago
