I had an exiting Ditty ticker. I added a new item that was a shortcode to a template like all of the other items in the ticker and the ticker would not show it. I created a new ticker and added all of the items again and while in the mode of creating the ticker the items are displayed but as soon as I save it the items all disappear. I have tried deactivating, deleting and reinsatllaing Ditty but the problem is still the same.

Have you made any other updates to your site recently?

Can you check your browser’s developer tools > console to see if there are any javascript errors?

Here’s some info on finding the developer tools in your browser: https://balsamiq.com/support/faqs/browserconsole/

You can also run through the following document to see if another plugin or your theme may be causing a javascript error or other conflict: https://www.metaphorcreations.com/article/general/plugins/test-plugin-conflicts/

I’m experiencing the same issue today (ditty won’t save) while trying to create a new Ditty RSS feed. Everything seems to work fine, including a preview of the feed, but when I click the Save Ditty button the content preview disappears and an empty DItty with no feed item is saved instead.

I’ve been working on the site quite a bit today and installed the following plugins: Onesignal, Better Messages, and the Ditty Grid extension.

I deactivated each of those plugins one by one, including Ditty Grid and was unable to save a new RSS Feed even then. Same result each time: set my display and layout, added the RSS feed, saw a content preview, clicked save, content disappeared and an “empty” Ditty was saved.

I tried looking at the page where I added the Ditty using Chrome’s developer tools but didn’t see any conflicts or errors that seemed relevant — but I am far from being a JS programmer.

Thanks for letting me know. I’ve done some testing today, but have not yet been able to replicate this issue. Do you have any other Ditty extensions active and running on your site?

I’m running Ditty, Ditty RSS, and Ditty Grid. I just purchased and downloaded Ditty Grid from the website today. I noticed it is something like version 1.0.2 while Ditty and Ditty RSS are both version 3-something. I don’t know if that has anything to do with it but it stood out to me.

I would also note that on the Settings page in Ditty the menu appears but nothing displays when I click on any of the options. It looks similar to the disappearing RSS feed in that it seems like an interface glitch.

I’ve tried in both Firefox and Chrome and gotten the same results.

I just released a big update for Ditty as well as all the extensions. The editor has been reworked and should be functioning properly now.

Let me know your thoughts once you try out the updated editor.

    Thanks!

Works great! I like the revised editor interface too. Thanks so much for the quick response!

Great, glad to hear it! I’m glad you like the new editor as well.

Please let me know if you run into any other issues, or general suggestions on making Ditty better!
