• I downloaded the plugin and have been testing. Easy to use and plays nice with a couple of exceptions due the way videos I’m using were edited. They came from different sources and were recorded with different aspect ratios (16:9, 4:3, …)

When I put them in a container with fixed dimensions, 3:2 aspect ratio, some players detect the real aspect ratio and fill blank spaces with black bars but others stretch them to the specified dimensions distorting the video

It’s the case of FF wich doesn’t support mp4/h.264 and fallback to VideoJS Flash Component. It doesn’t happen with Adobe Flash player. The same problem in Windows/Safari with HTML5 API

I’m almost sure isn’t your plugin issue but players. Anyway, can you suggest any workaround?

    Thanks in advance

    OS X 10.6.8
    Safari 5.1.7: OK
FF 19.0.2 (Flash API): No black bars, video deformed
    Chrome 25.0.1364.172: OK

    W7 Home Premium, SP1
IE 9.0.8112.16421: Big play button not transparent corners
Safari 5.1.7 (HTML5 API): No black bars, video deformed
FF 17.0.1: (Flash API): No black bars, video deformed
    Chrome 25.0.1364.172 m: OK

Are you specifying a height and width in each shortcode, or just using the defaults? Are you using the responsive video option?

Height and width in each shortcode: Yes
Responsive video option: I didn’t specified

By the way, Adobe Flash Player does letterboxing so, f4v videos look fine

    Thanks in advance

I’ve discovered that if you rewind the video to the start and play it again, then VideoJS Flash Player does letterboxing

If you go to other menu and come back or reload the page, the same behavior is repeated, no letterboxing unless video is rewinded
