Dissapearing elements like buttons, icons etc.

  • I’m new to WordPress so currently I’m in phase when I’m trying to figure it all out. I’ve tried a few different themes so far and I think Mesmerize fits the best regarding my requirements, but one thing about is really alarming. Some elements like buttons, links etc. keep dissapearing. I’m building/editing my homepage in customizer and I use predefined components that are under “Page Content -> Sections” of the theme like portfolio, features, overlapabble etc. In section “Features” I added some buttons with links and after few days they all dissapeared. I tried to browse previous version but it seems like it’s just not there anymore. Earlier I used only links instead of buttons and they dissapeard too. Before that icons, that are “built into” this section, also dissapeard. I fear, that once I publish my site it’ll happen again and suddenly I’ll loose some functionalites and there isn’t even a way to restore them. The only thing I can do is to build them again (except for icons, because I couldn’t find them at all), but it’s not how it suppose to work. Why is that happening? How can I fix it?

    Can you please try to de-activate all plugins except the Mesmerize Companion and re-check your page with the issue?

    This might be a plugin related issue. Please let me know if this solved your issue.

    Hi,
    Thank you for yor response. Unfortunately, switching off plugins isn’t a valid solution for me. I’ve already disabled most of the plugins and left only those that are essential. The dissapearing doesn’t happen ‘instantly’ e.g. after refreshing the page etc. It happens after few days, after a week. It’s hard to predict and if I disabled all plugins I couldn’t be sure that the problem is gone. I imagine it can happer after 2 weeks or maybe a month? How long should I wait to see if it’s a plugin related problem.? ?? This is not a reliable solution for me. I’m really counting on more solid solution. And the disspearing happened before I installed most of the plugins actually.
    For now I only have those plugins active: Content Control, Duplicate Page (this one I could disable), Elegant Blocks, Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg, Ultimate Member and Visual Portfolio. Do any of these, in your experience, cause trouble?

    Hi I have drafted the front page of this mesmerise theme 5 times over 24 hours and am getting the same issue. It’s completely new site so the plugins are only the ones that you have asked me to add on. Can someone help as I have spent a lot of time with nothing to show for it so far ??

    I was having an issue with the text box options buttons disappearing in the front page hero, then I deactivated the mesmerize companion plugin and that solved the issue for me. Best of luck.

    @mark5967 thank you for your response! Unfortunately, when I tried your tip, my whole design fell apart. It seems that this plugin is necessary. I guess in the end I’ll have to switch to another theme.
