• I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration with your recently implemented plugin that mandates users to create an account with an external artificial intelligence provider. This requirement is utterly unacceptable and constitutes a blatant disregard for user autonomy and privacy. It is imperative that you understand the severity of this issue and take immediate action to rectify this deeply flawed approach.

Expecting users to sign up for an external service, especially one that deals with artificial intelligence, raises significant concerns about data security and privacy. Not only does this infringe upon the rights of users to maintain control over their personal information, but it also places an unnecessary burden on them, complicating what should be a straightforward and user-friendly experience.

I strongly urge you to reconsider this policy and either provide an alternative that respects user privacy or eliminate this requirement altogether. It is crucial for a platform as widely used as WordPress to prioritize the needs and concerns of its users, and this current policy is a step in the wrong direction.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

P.S. I would like to add an important point that further underscores the severity of this issue. Even after opting to disable the AI functionality, users are still being coerced into creating an account. This is not just an infringement upon user choice, but it represents a fundamental flaw in the design and policy of the plugin. It’s essential that such a requirement is removed, especially for those who choose not to utilize the AI features. This approach is overly intrusive and unacceptable.

    Hello @alexkarc

My name is Mehedi, and I’m the Product Manager here at Spectra. I wanted to reach out to address the concerns you’ve raised regarding our template library and the requirement for an account to import a design.

So, why is it necessary to authorize with ZipWP if the user only wants to import the design?
Until recently, we had our APIs open for anyone to import the templates without requiring an account or authentication. However, this led to a significant amount of spam traffic and DDoS attacks on the APIs, which negatively impacted our genuine users when our API servers became slow or unresponsive due to the spam traffic and DDoS abuses.

So, we have now added an authentication layer in between, which filters out spam traffic to our APIs.

This is just a one-time process. Once you’re authenticated, you will be able to download any templates with one click, as you were able to do previously.

At BrainstormForce, we’re committed to ensuring a seamless experience for our users while also prioritizing security and reliability. We understand the frustration this additional step may cause, but please rest assured that it’s designed to protect the integrity of our services and ultimately enhance your experience with our products.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

    Regards,
    Mehedi Hasan
