Our Blogger site uses Disqus for comments.

Our Disqus installation uses the post id to determine which comments to load for said page. I was wondering if there is a way to make sure the WordPress post id matches that of the Blogger post (whenever possible), or any way to retrieve the old blogger post id after the import?
That way we can make sure Disqus loads the proper comments.

    Hi @gameleon,

So long as the Permalink setting is as follows, Disqus should be able to show the correct comments:

    /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html

    For example – https://imgur.com/uBLbKq2

Thank you very much. That did work.

And here I was trying out complex solutions like adding the ‘import_id’ property to the wp_insert_post call of the importer. Sometimes the solution is a lot simpler ??

As a continuation of this, would enabling the Blogger importer redirects be any use with these permalink settings? Since the permalinks seem to match up exactly with the original Blogger permalinks now.

Glad to hear that was an easy fix ??

I’d still recommend enabling the redirects. They will catch any extras like labels and RSS feeds which could not be automatically created in WordPress.
