“Protect your email addresses! Receive automatic warnings when your site contains unprotected email addresses, or use the page scanner to test your site manually.”

is display on every reload – it′s not possible to stop this.

The checkbox “Hide notices and promotions for all users” is checked.

When you click/tap the [x] on that notice, does it re-appear after a reload?

What WordPress version are you using?

In the meantime, you can add this to the top of your wp-config.php file to disable all notices:

    `
    define( ‘EAE_DISABLE_NOTICES’, true );
    `

I′m running WP 4.9.8 clicked the [x] several times – does not change anything.

Are you seeing any error in your browser console or server logs?

Could you please send me a link to your browser version using this website: https://www.whatsmybrowser.org

    Hey Till.

I also hoped this notice would go away once I had clicked it. I saw the option you mentioned above to turn off ALL notices but didn’t want to do that.

So no way to turn off this particular notice (which I have clicked on every single one of my sites to test using your scanner) without turning off all future notices? Or am I misunderstanding?

Thanks for all your hard work on this great plugin!

@dking64: Yes, that’s correct. So you’d like to turn off the adminbar item individually?

The notice about the scanner is a good one, and I followed the link and used the scanner for all my sites. (In the process found a few unprotected addresses which I fixed).

My hope was that, having followed the link on every site, I wouldn’t see that particular notice again. And if that action doesn’t create a cookie to make the notice disappear, next best would be a manual “dismiss this” option which I could click.

Instead the notice is still there on all my sites and the only way to dismiss it, if I understand correctly, is to turn off all future notifications, which I prefer not to do.

    Thanks again.

Sorry, could you post a photo of what notice you’d like to dismiss individually?

The one referenced at the top of this thread:
“Protect your email addresses! Receive automatic warnings when your site contains unprotected email addresses, or use the page scanner to test your site manually.”

Having scanned, I would like this to go away.

Would it go away if I elected the ‘automatic warnings’ option?

Are you seeing the little gray X. Clicking that will hide the banner permanently.

Make sure you’re using the latest version.

I believe I have done that on every site, and yet the notice is still there on the first two sites I just checked.

And that’s the reason I wrote you about this in the first place — I had run the scanner and had checked the “x” and yet the notice was there next time I opened WP, which made me wonder if I had checked that site already when I had.

There have been many occasions in the past where the “x” does not dismiss notices for other plugins; they keep coming back. That’s the reason I assumed — maybe wrongly — that ‘dismiss this notice’ links do something different, like set a cookie.

But may I’m wrong. I just logged out of one of those two sites and logged back in and the notice isn’t there.

If checking the “x” was all I needed to do then I have wasted your time.

The latest version, released yesterday actually fixed a bug of the notices not saving in some WordPress versions. So you might have been one of the people affected by it.

If the notices would disappear after upgrading to the latest version and clicking X, let me know an I’ll look into it.

    Thanks for the thorough report!

    I think that explains it.

Thanks again for all your work, Till. 5-star review and donation.
