Displaying wordpress content on non wordpress pages

I have a client who has their wordpress blog but they want to show several entries on their home page (their website is custom, written in PHP). Problem is, when I bring the content out to display, I don’t get any <p> </p> around the paragraphs. I’m looking for a workaround and hope someone here can help me. Thanks!
