Hello. I am very new to wordpress. I am looking for the best practice on how to display topics from my blog (my content) on my regular website.

I do have access to the same database that WP is installed to, so I can easily pull from the database all of the posts, but I Was wondering if there is a better, or a more “standard” way to do this?

What I would prefer is to have the user stay on my site when they click on the post heading, rather than have it go to the URL of the specific post on the blog.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks!!

  • Is your blog hosted on WordPress.com?

You could instead host it on your own site.

If you wish not to do so, you could display the latest posts from your blog on your site using RSS.

I already have downloaded and installed it. It’s working fine. But it’s installed as “www.mywebsite.com/blog”.

What I want to do is on the main page of https://www.mywebsite.com, just have a list of the posts.

IS my best bet to parse the RSS File using cold fusion or Asp? Or would I be better off using ASP/Coldfusion to connect to the WP database?

Personally I would make a direct database connection because it will display faster to the visitor. if you know how to do this I would suggest that.
