Displaying the category in the shop

Although the plug-in restricts roles from viewing some products, I cannot prevent the category displaying on the main shop page for those users.
I have specified that the category ‘Gunn Club’ be invisible to guests, but the category still shows in the main shop page, although if a guest clicks on the category no products show. I wish to prevent the category displaying at all for guests. Is this possible?
