    Hi

We have a (main) calendar we use with 4 other calendars that are shared with it and set to ‘See all event details’ in the calendar settings on Google. This works fine when displaying the calendar via an iframe. However, when displaying in this widget, only the events in the main calendar are being displayed – no events from the shared calendars come through. The ‘Google Calendar ID’ I’m using in the ‘Feed Settings’ is for the main calendar.

Is it possible to display events from shared calendars?

    Thanks, Mark

it possibly depends on the response Google sends or with individual privacy settings of all calendars which should be public – but if you display them in a iframe they could be – or if they’re not maybe you only can see them because you’re logged in?)

a workaround could be creating multiple calendars with the plugin, then mixing them together – currently this is only possible via shortcode using a comma separated id="1,2,3" attribute. (This is going to change in a upcoming version and users can create calendars made of multiple calendars from different sources, without relying much on shortcodes).

    Hi Fulvio

Thank you so much – I’ve created multiple feeds and just added them, comma separated, into the widget. Worked perfectly.

    Thanks again, Mark

    Glad it worked out

There’s an upcoming version – which I’m going to post about soon, so people can grab a copy to try out – which this behaviour is changed a bit, but in a better way

basically the shortcode and the widget won’t support adding multiple IDs in that way, and actually for the widget you won’t need to copy and paste an ID, but select a calendar you want to display, from a dropdown with titles. This won’t eliminate the possibility to use mashed calendars, there will be a new ‘feed type’ or events source as we are going to call it called ‘grouped calendars’. So you will first create a new calendar of this kind and adjust the settings for that calendar, then choose which calendars it has to blend together. This allows for more control and clarity. Then you create a widget and tell the widget to display that particular calendar which is a collection of calendars. The same goes for adding calendars to posts or pages, actually there will be a way to add those even without a shortcode, less confusion and more clean post content. Sounds a long thing, but it will be very straightforward.

Stay tuned on this forum later this day to read about the new version and how to grab a copy if you’re interested

    Thanks for the info Fulvio.

Sounds like a great addition to the plugin.

    Look forward to implementing it!

    Thanks, Mark
