• Hi,

Building a motorsport photo blog. Site is is good and easy for noob users to add galleries.

Have hit a hurdle. Added a search widget so people can search for images of a specific driver or car. Added the “search everything” plugin which then allows searching for drivers or car types as it pulls the data from the image titles. very nifty. However what I don’t like is the way that displays the search results. The search results has terrible formatting with big gaps between the results. THen when you click on the search results it displays the image in a horrid looking window. Not cool

    if you go to e b a r l o w p h o t o s . c o m and search for Ford you will see what I mean.

I would like to know if there is an alternative to this perhaps search results display the images in a gallery. Not really sure.

Very interested in ideas to solve this problem and also interested in alternative ways to achieve the same result.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

  • You can always use a child theme to style your search results. Use a tool like Firebug to determine which elements you want to change and how you want to change them and add that info to the child theme stylesheet.

Thanks for the reply. Probably just render the results the same way. What I am looking for is maybe the results are presented in a gallery with lightbox as you scroll them.

What i don’t like is when you search for say “ford” as listed above it gives the results and you click on it. Opens up with that result which is correct but when you click on it it just goes to the next photo in the gallery not the next search result. Hmmmm

    Thanks anyway for your time
