• On desktop browsers, my blog currently displays full articles on the front page, and excerpts if you search. On mobile, it also displays full articles on the front page…but also full ones when you search, which makes it difficult to find the article you want.

Is there any way I can configure the mobile version only to display excerpts on both the main page and search results? I’m using the Atahualpa theme for desktop, and I’m pretty sure the mobile view is just the generic WP theme (whatever it defaults to for mobile).

    Any pointers? Thanks in advance!

  • There is no generic WP theme default for mobile. (or desktop) You have to choose a theme to use. And unless you have a plugin that does something different for mobile, the same theme is used all the time.
So, check your plugins and get rid of whatever is causing a different address or a different theme on mobile. Then if you still don’t like it, ask at your theme’s support forum.

Just my opinion: the same content should be served to desktop and mobile, because it’s difficult to detect accurately which is which, and the user can always change the window size (or zoom).
