Displaying images and transcription

  • I wish to use www.remarpro.com display digital images of diary, plus a transcription re same, and hope to allow the user to view the diary by clicking “next” to bring up an image/transcription for the next date/diary entry. Ideally, I would also like certain sentences/content in the transcription to link out to supplementary images in a separate gallery.

    I would be grateful for a survey of:

    1) Any suggestions re plugins
    2) Any links to similar projects on WordPress
    3) Thoughts on alternative solutions re displaying the diary and transcriptions
    4) Thoughts on providing an option on the website to a browse/search type of database re accessing particular dates in the diary
    5) Information on how to integrate XML to the site
    6) Any other enhancements to the site which may be useful
