Hey guys, I’m having a problem with displaying a couple of custom fields in a custom theme. I’m displaying 2 custom fields on my page.php template and they are working fine, one spits out some text the an image. It works fine on any page that I create but my posts page for some reason doesn’t display them at all. Does anybody know why this is?

    Thanks

    Mitch

  • I don’t think there’s a problem with your index.php

When setting “any page as the “Posts page” it would always pull the page content (as entered in the admin) instead of grabbing “Posts” …

It also wasn’t using index.php, but rather page.php … (which of course if for pulling pages) so i’d naturally expect that behaviour..

I think the issue at hand is the exact use of that “Posts page” setting…

I’ve tried playing around with a few settings and it doesn’t seem to work for me..

I wonder if a mod can comment on the usage of that setting? Perhaps someone who uses that setting without a problem?

I wish i could help more, but i think i see the issue in that behaviour doesn’t appear to be what it should be… but perhaps we’re both missing something glaringly obvious to… i don’t know.. ??

Hello there! I stumbled upon your topic here because I am having a similar problem, though I hope it much more simple. I have a basic text custom field that is not showing on my posts page, but it on my regular pages. I have tried putting the same php code that pulls in the custom field on index.php and single.php but neither works. Any suggestions?? I am using WordPress 2.8.4.

    Thank you in advance!
