• Hi

On the page above there are no categories showing. What I would like to do is to show all child categories and the title of the parent category on this page. It would allow faster navigation through a child category.

    Many thanks

It sounds like you’d like to modify the category page title to include the parent category’s name as well. Here’s how to get started with that:

Thanks for the reply. I have tried some of the suggestions but it isn’t working for the shop categories.

I thought it would help if I explained further.

So, I can get sub categories to display on the parent category pages but as soon as I go into the product page they don’t show.

Shop – Vegetables (shows all the sub categories)

    Click on a sub-category

List of products (but no child categories displayed in the sidebar)

    Any help would be amazing.

    Hey there!

I tried to take a look at your site, to better understand what you mean. However, it appears to be down for me:

Can you show me a screenshot of what you mean, i.e. where it’s working correctly, and where it’s not?

    Thanks!

Thanks Hannah. Illness is long term but it is the result of life saving surgery. So I am glad. The illness reminds me of what could have been and how fortunate I am compared to others.

This first image is in Product categories – vegetables. It lists all child categories in the sidebar and also thumbnails in the content.
    Categories showing

Now when I click on carrots the sidebar menu disappears. It happens when I go into a list of products rather than categories.
    Categories missing

    I hope that helps. Thanks

Thanks for those screenshots – that was immensely helpful!

The first screenshot is showing the Product Categories widget in the sidebar. The second screenshot is missing that widget. It looks like you’ve set up the site to have different widgets for different pages. Take a look through the plugins you’ve installed, or any customizations.

Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here.
