Display upcoming event on home page?

Hi,

you can make a new page with this code:

[events_list scope=”future”]

Go in wordpress setting, reading and in static page select the page that you made.

This did two wrong things: 1. It removed everything that was there on the previous Home Page. 2. Instead of showing just the next event, it is showing a list of all upcoming events.

I already have a designed Home Page for my website (I am using the Pitch theme). To that existing page, I want to show the next immediate upcoming event, and not all upcoming events. How do I achieve this?

This should work:

[events_list scope="future" limit=1]
