Display Top Parent Tax Term

Hello Bill,

I have been using this plugin for many years.
I would like to use it to run my news-box instead of the crappy custom php code

Questions:
1- Is this possible to get the top parent tax term and display it ? (currently showing only the lowest parent tax term of the custom post)
2- what about styling ? is display_posts_shortcode_post_class the way to go ? (i want to stick with current styling : display date first in a custom format then post title then top parent tax term in a specific colour regarding the term.
3- bonus – is dps shortcode the best way to go for this use case ? i have been thinking a lot about the solution to use to achieve this. Scenarios are custom php(as is) vs dsp shortcode vs post grids tools in elementor vs ess grids ect…
