Display Titles Under Thumbnails with WP Default Gallery System

Did you ever get this resolved? I’m banging my head against the wall with the same question and not wanting to use nextgen for this simple gallery need. I just want captions or titles to show! Thanks if you figured it out. My posts have gone unanswered as well.
