• Hello!

I would like to use the blog page as my home page, where all the latest blog posts will be displayed. What I am missing however is a static message above all these blog posts. Is there a built-in feature of WordPress that can do this? I know there’s the sticky option of blog posts but I don’t want the message to be a blog post (i.e. clickable and links you to the actual post, date and user who posted it are displayed, etc…)

It seems like a basic thing to me but apparently it doesn’t exist unless you tweak a lot of things? Well, I hope I just missed something! I don’t want to mess around too much with the site code etc.

    Thank you.

Edit: Something just came to my mind. I could also use a blog page as the front page, but is there a way to display its name and content if I do that? If I set a page as the blog page, it seems that title and content are automatically hidden. It’s a shame, it would be a great feature.

All these things you want or dislike are theme dependent. In theory, you could find a theme that presents everything the way you want, but alas, reality raises its ugly head and we can’t always get what we want… unless we’re willing to do some custom work.

Probably the simplest approach is to go ahead and make that sticky post with your message. Then hide the objectionable elements with CSS rules added to the Additional CSS panel of the customizer.
